
In order to maintain safety during the Ringette season, there are certain equipment standards that must be adhered to. For the most part, these standards are at the same level of an organized hockey league. With that in mind, all equipment must be certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
Mandatory Equipment is as follows: CSA approved helmet as listed below, approved neck protector, elbow pads, protective gloves i.e. hockey gloves, hip/tailbone/genital protection, hockey/ringette skates (no picks) figure skates are not acceptable, ringette stick. Special goalie equipment will be supplied. Uniform shirts and pants will be supplied.
Goaltenders: in addition to the hockey helmet standards, be sure to read below regarding accepted face masks.
The following CSA certified hockey helmets are deemed acceptable for the Thunder Bay Ringette Association (and any other Ringette league under the provision of the Canadian Ringette Association):

Regarding goalkeeper head and face protection: "Effective September 1, 2000, any player registered with Ringette Canada who is playing in the goalkeeping position is required to wear either a CSA certified hockey helmet with a (compatible) CSA certified Type 5 or 6 mask affixed, or a CSA certified Type3/5 goalkeeper helmet." - Canadian Ringette Association
